30th of July.

It was a perfect sunny day, warm without being wiltingly hot. The boys enjoyed getting their party clothes on, and somehow we managed to get ready, drive to Taunton, pick up a perfect picnic lunch, and arrive at Hestercombe without a tantrum or a spillage.

It was a good idea to take photos of the boys while they were clean. :)

Finn was even considerate enough to have a sleep in the car, which meant he was cheerful and pleasant for the whole event. And what and event!

I don't think I can do the day justice with words. It was sweet and romantic, joyous and fun.

There was a sense of fun that permeated the ceremony. I don't think the bride or groom knew how to be sombre.

He are some of the beautiful people at the wedding:

Dearest Susie and Angela. Missing you already.

Michael, thoroughly enjoying the day, and his role as Master of Ceremonies.

I love seeing Toby in a suit and tie :)

My boys adored the Goldacre boys. They look pretty serious in their suits, but we know what they're really like. It's pretty funny I don't have a photo to put here of the elusive Josh. I thought he was an imaginary brother for years.

The beautiful Ed and Caroline.

Ben dubbed this event the litter ceremony. Oh look! There is the elusive Josh (front left) about the heft some confetti.

Here is Finn, showing off to Raph. Trying to convince him that he is nearly five years old.

And then, the wedding turned into a carnival.

Not just for kids

I had this race in the bag, miles ahead, until I fell flat on my face. Still, I think I beat Tim!

After the races, it was time for some photos of the beautiful people. I hope I get to see some of the official ones. Here is the stunning bride, who seemed to spend most of the day laughing :)

While the formal photos were being taken, Finn took a little time out with my IPad. If you feel like playing Where's Wally, see if you can spot the green iPod we left somewhere in this scene.

Next was the reception or wedding breakfast (as it seems to be called, no matter what time of day it occurs). Aside from the brick of pate served as entree, the rest of the breakfast was lovely. We even got extra desert, thanks to Tim's absent plus one. I loved watching the boys try pate for the first time, and then asking what it was!

My photography becomes a little sketchy from now on, as the champagne and excitement of the day took its toll.

Alli, looking very fine.

I think Finn took this photo of me!

I love love love this photo of Toby and Susie!

I swear Tim's mo looked real. And who does he look like in this photo???

Ethan, ten years from now?

There were sweet and funny speeches, with a word bingo game to make sure you listened to them all. My very favourite part of the reception was Susie, Raph, Alli and Josh singing 'Here Comes the Sun' A cappella.

Hestercombe gardens was a lovely venue, I really should have taken more photos of the scenery. This is all I can give you:

(the lawns btw were gorgeous, and showed little evidence of damage from evil Jackdaws)
